How much does a website cost in Malaysia?
Website design Malaysia price is not one number. It depends on whether you need a template, a custom company site, or a system. Anyone selling a single package SKU on a landing page is selling a product, not scoping your work.
Why there is no honest package price
Malaysian quotes for the same three words — “company website” — range from a cheap theme to a months-long build. The gap is the job, not a secret discount. We do not put a ringgit figure on this page because we have not seen your pages, your copy, or whether you actually need checkout.
A real number comes after a conversation. WhatsApp is enough to start. If another studio lists a fixed package, treat it as the template band until they prove otherwise.
Three honest bands
Template
The lowest band. A theme — WordPress, Wix, a freelancer kit — with your logo and colours swapped in. Fine when the business is simple and the site is a brochure. You pay for speed. You get the template’s limits: stock layout, weak copy, a form nobody uses.
Custom company website
The middle band. Copy, layout and how people reach you — usually WhatsApp, in Malaysia — designed around the business. Still a public site, not software you run stock on. This is the company-website job, not a bigger template.
A system
A different band entirely. Custom ERP, an internal tool, or a storefront with checkout. You are paying for workflow, not a homepage. Comparing that quote to a brochure site is mixing two jobs.
What actually moves a quote
How many pages, and whether the copy already exists. Whether the layout has to work on a phone first — it does. Domain and hosting if those are part of the same job. Language: we work in English, not a Bahasa Malaysia microsite factory.
The bigger jump is when the brief is not a website. Checkout and a catalogue you own is an e-commerce storefront. Stock, orders and delivery are an internal system or a custom ERP. Budget those as software.
